The best friend you could ever have is the Holy Spirit. He will share with you information that there is no way you could have known. He will open your mind to what the Bible is saying. He will direct you to do different things in your life.
Are you tapping into that wonderful resource and getting the most help from God to live fruitfully?
Jesus ascended to heaven so He could pour out the Holy Spirit on believers. Just read about what happened and how the promise of the Holy Spirit had been given 700 years before it actually happened.
32 “God raised Jesus from the dead, and we are all witnesses of this. 33 Now he is exalted to the place of highest honour in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today. (Acts 2:32-33).
49 “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven” (Luke 24/49).
16 No, what you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel:
17 ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. 18 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike— and they will prophesy (Acts 2:16-18).
This promise (of receiving the Holy Spirit) is to you, to your children, and to those far away—all who have been called by the Lord our God (Acts 2:39).
Just meditate on that and then ask God to give you supernatural power. In the context of Jesus teaching His disciples how to pray, He taught them to ask for the Holy Spirit:
11 “You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead?
12 Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not!
13 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him” (Luke 11:11-13).
