I heard last night about someone’s selfish actions that caused incomprehensible grief and pain.
While thinking about this God pointed me to Ecc. 3 (Amp):
1There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven--
2A time to be born and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
3A time to kill and a time to heal;
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
4A time to weep and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
5A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.
6A time to search and a time to give up as lost;
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
7A time to tear apart and a time to sew together;
A time to keep silent and a time to speak.
8A time to love and a time to hate;
A time for war and a time for peace.
What these verses are telling us is that when we live our life in relationship with God, all things that happen are in the hand of God. For sure, we aren’t promised a life here on earth full of perpetual joy because we read: “For man is born for trouble, [As naturally] as sparks fly upward. (Job 5:7 Amp).
When we are going through a time of being torn apart, we are being told by the writer of Ecclesiastes that there will come a time of being put together again. A time of sorrow will give way to joy. Things that are being torn away today will lead to a day will when things will be built up again.
God is so faithful when we trust Him and lean on Him in our distress. In time, God will bring peace, joy and beauty to our lives.
When Israel had fled Egypt and the armed Egyptian warriors were in hot pursuit, Moses encouraged the people of Israel with these words, “Do not be afraid! Take your stand [be firm and confident and undismayed] and see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today; for those Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see again. (Ex 14:13 Amp).
We may not be facing Egyptians but we are facing an enemy, be it sickness, betrayal, financial distress, relationship failure, political unrest and so on. All we need to do is stand still and see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for us. Our time of joy, peace and beauty is coming.
